Our House

The homes in our area are old colonial style and are very, very different than the type of houses where most Singaporians live. Lack of space is an issue here, so most people live in tall high rises.

The living space is actually on the second floor. The entire bottom area is open.

Our $250 car...nothing but luxury for us :)   We drive on the opposite side of the road than the U.S., but it wasn't as hard to get used to as I thought it would be.

'Ama's Quarters' - This is an attached small room and bathroom for a live-in maid. Some of the families here with kids have an 'Ama'. It only costs about $350 Singapore dollars/month (which is $250 U.S. dollars) and she does all cooking, cleaning, ironing, shopping, and even helps with the kids. Not a bad deal. We use ours for extra storage.
