Thanksgiving Road Trip

With a long weekend ahead of us, we decided to take a road trip to Kuala Lumpur (KL), the capital of Malaysia. All of our U.S. friends said "cool", while all of our Singaporean friends said, "what? you're driving all the way to KL??" They obviously thought we were nuts.

At first I didn't understand their reaction, but then it hit me. To drive from one end of Singapore to the other takes about 45 minutes. Let me repeat. It takes about 45 minutes to drive the length of this ENTIRE country. So needless to say, the Singaporean perception of a road trip is completely different from an American's (and KL is only 4 hours away).
